GENERAL SUMMARY: Manages, directs and administers the operations and business development efforts of a Credit Union branch(es) with two or three FSRs that offers a full range of services to current and potential members.



  • Position Duties & Functions

    Branch Operations Management

    • Oversees deposit, lending, and member service functions within specified branch or branches in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established by the Credit Union.
    • Ensures the branch is in compliance with local, federal and state laws and regulations set forth by the NCUA and other agencies.
    • Maintains excellent knowledge of Credit Union policies, procedures and practices. Reviews operational issues with appropriate parties, including staff, regional manager, internal auditor, and/or other department personnel for solutions or modifications to operations.
    • Prepares branch budgets, anticipating branch needs and identifying best solutions while being cost conscientious. Reviews operating expenses and modifies expenditures to stay within branch budget.
    • Balances cash, general ledger, and daily sheet each day; signs checks; reconciles and replenishes petty cash as necessary; conducts branch and teller audits monthly.
    • Resolves escalated member issues promptly and provides accurate information to members.

    Operational Functions

    • Performs deposit and member service functions as appropriate.
    • Reviews and funds loans within standard underwriting guidelines.
    • Obtains certification in the Medallion stamp program and performs relevant functions.
    • Serves as a Notary as required based on branch needs and location.

    Sales

    • Monitors sales growth of key products and services within the branch, achieving profitable and sound growth that meets the financial needs of members.
    • Ensures that employees maximize opportunities to promote products and services. Leads the team in promoting a culture of understanding and anticipating members’ banking needs.
    • Maintains superior knowledge of all products and services and how they add member value.

    Business Development

    • Maintains and develops new business relationships with corporate sponsors, high-ranking department managers, and others within the field of membership.
    • Develops and conducts business development activities to strengthen Credit Union presence with facilities, SEG groups, and other potential prospects.
    • Works closely with the Marketing department to share contacts, support Lunch and Learns, make presentations, and bring new business to the Credit Union.

    People Management

    • Trains, coaches, and develops staff to ensure efficient and effective delivery of member services. Conducts staff meetings and training to ensure that staff is thoroughly trained in all Credit Union products and services.
    • Evaluates the work of employees; conducts performance appraisals; recommends promotions, reassignments, and hiring of new employees; and performs related personnel functions.
    • Ensures branch personnel conduct themselves in a professional manner, with staff attire and conduct instilling member confidence.

    Management of Branch Facility

    • Ensures that the branch image is professional and secure, employing prudent housekeeping and safety procedures and providing a pleasant atmosphere for members that includes privacy, confidentiality, and ease of use.
    • Ensures the security and safety of the branch, analyzing security and safety policies and procedures and alerting staff to any changes.

    Travel

    • Travel within the region and occasionally to other regions, which may require overnight stays.

    Position Requirements

    EXPERIENCE and EDUCATION

    • 3 to 5 years’ related branch operational experience required.
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated qualifications.

    KNOWLEDGE And SKILLS

    • Ability to write and speak effectively in English using correct spelling and grammar.
    • Basic math skills including the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages using a 10-key.
    • Proficient in the use of basic applications in a Windows-based environment, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Moderate keyboard skills at 40 wpm.
    • Excellent customer service skills.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • Work involves extensive use of computers, up to eight hours per day. Appropriate vision, dexterity, and other physical abilities are required.
    • May include occasional pushing, pulling, or carrying objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
    • Must be able to speak and present on the telephone and/or through digital means of communication, including but not limited to Zoom/Teams/or other video technologies.

    Salary: $62,294.40 - $85,654.80
