Position: Branch Head – Custom Clearance, Transportation & Freight Forwarding
Location: Bharuch
Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
Candidates should possess minimum 10 Years of experience in custom clearance, transportation, or/and freight forwarding, with at least 5 years in a Managerial / Leadership Role.
Salary: Up to 15 LPA
Responsibilities:
The position will broadly be responsible to/for:
1. Custom Clearance Management:
o Ensure timely and compliant clearance of goods through customs.
o Supervise and manage the documentation and filing of import/export customs documents.
o Liaise with customs authorities to address issues and resolve any disputes.
o Stay updated on local and international customs regulations and compliance requirements.
o Lead efforts to ensure accurate duty calculations, tariff classifications, and valuation of goods.
2. Transportation Operations:
o Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of transportation operations for shipments.
o Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, freight carriers, and transportation partners.
o Ensure the timely, cost-effective, and safe delivery of shipments to and from destinations.
o Monitor transport activities to ensure compliance with transportation laws and standards.
3. Freight Forwarding Services:
o Lead the freight forwarding operations, including coordination with shipping lines, airlines, and other carriers.
o Develop and maintain relationships with international freight forwarders, shipping agents, and clients.
o Ensure the effective management of air, sea, and land freight routes.
o Negotiate rates, terms, and services with third-party suppliers to optimize service and reduce costs.
4. Customer Service & Relationship Management:
o Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding customs, transportation, and freight forwarding inquiries.
o Provide guidance and recommendations to customers regarding import/export logistics and compliance.
o Develop strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
o Address any customer complaints or issues and resolve them in a timely and effective manner.
5. Team Leadership & Staff Management:
o Manage, lead, and mentor a team of customs clearance, transportation, and operations staff.
o Conduct regular training to ensure the team remains up to date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
o Set performance goals for the team and ensure individual and team targets are met.
o Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages open communication and teamwork.
6. Reporting & Documentation:
o Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports related to operations, customs clearances, and transportation.
o Provide regular updates to upper management regarding key performance indicators, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
o Analyze performance data to identify areas for process improvement and cost savings.
7. Compliance & Risk Management:
o Ensure that all operations comply with local and international regulations, standards, and customs requirements.
o Implement risk management strategies to minimize potential operational disruptions.
o Proactively resolve potential compliance issues before they escalate.
