Cibes|Symmetry is currently recruiting for Brake Press Operator at our Peoria , IL Facility. This is a 1st shift position: 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with occasional overtime on the weekends depending on our workload. JOB DESCRIPTION The Brake Press/Laser Operator programs and operates the brake press/laser to process and bend metal components as specified by written instructions, schedules and drawings; and inspects completed work for conformance to specifications. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in brake press/laser operation, and demonstrate a high quality of workmanship. This person must be able to show timeliness, quality results, and dependability. Duties and Responsibilities Reads and interprets diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine unit or piece(s) to be processed Lifts and maneuvers metal components onto and off of machine Performs setup and operation of computer programmable/controlled brake press machines Plans and lays out bending sequence, referring to drawings, blueprints or specifications Bends a variety of products or assemblies Uses precision instruments to check tolerances and quality of components, such as calipers, square, and tape measure May align, fit, or adjusts parts to meet operating requirements May assist engineers in the modification, parts substitution, and repair May perform minor maintenance procedures Coordinates work as demand requires Monitors machine alignment Performs all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures Troubleshoots and reworks pieces that fail tests Maintains a clean, safe work area free of foreign materials Candidates should also have the following: Demonstrated high level of quality in workmanship Basic math, reading, and reasoning skills Ability to communicate effectively, written and oral Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions Demonstrated multi-tasking ability to respond to manufacturing needs High attention to detail; ability to visually inspect and measure parts Ability to work independently or with a team Forklift driving experience preferred Pay depending on experience.
