Summary

ECS is seeking an ARPA-H Bioinformatics Engineer to work in our Remote office. Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award. Are you a passionate Bioinformatics expert ready to support the leading edge of scientific and healthcare advancements in the Federal Government today? ECS is seeking talented and driven professionals to support the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H). In this role, you will serve as a scientific and technical advisor to ARPA-H—enabling the agency to manage and provide oversight to advanced R&D efforts; help shape future R&D concepts, programs, and solutions; integrate and advance our nation's healthcare ecosystem processes, policies, and enabling technologies; and enable the agency to expand its healthcare and scientific scope into yet unknown areas. As Bioinformatics Engineer, you will provide support and thought leadership to R&D performer teams, Government Program Managers, and stakeholders across the health innovation ecosystem. This role supports the Office of Information Technology and Data Innovation (ITDI). What you will do: Serve as Bioinformatics Expert: Design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable and efficient bioinformatics pipelines and tools to analyze multifaceted data sets and support informed data-driven decision-making. Develop and maintain comprehensive enterprise-level data models, including Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs) to represent structure and relationships within complex biomedical and healthcare data systems. Lead strategy development and drive product development efforts for innovative biomedical solutions ensuring alignment with ARPA-H organizational goals. Manage Data and Ontological Resources: Serve as a technical advisor for ontological standards and facilitate collaboration between cross-functional teams, ARPA-H senior leadership, and stakeholders to ensure alignment of internal biomedical data structures to industry standards and best practices. Ensure the interoperability of biomedical data models through the application of semantic web technologies and linked data principles. Stay current with advancements: Actively track and analyze new research and technologies in this field. Identify and propose emerging methodologies and technologies that could enhance the program's progress. Participate in technical discussions and presentations, contributing your expertise to the program's overall knowledge base. Collaborate effectively within a diverse team: Build strong relationships with computational scientists, engineers, and other scientific advisors involved in the program. Communicate complex concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences. Actively participate in brainstorming sessions and problem-solving exercises to drive the program forward. Salary Range: $100,000 - $180,000 General Description of Benefits Requirements: Bachelors in Biomedical Engineering, or related scientific field. 10 years minimum biomedical experience Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research, analyze data, and write technical reports. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong work ethic and a passion for healthcare and scientific discovery.
