Position: Biobest Sales and Business Development Manager

Within the Biobest Group, our USA insectary is the largest commercial producer of predatory and parasitic arthropods in North America. Located in Redding, California for over 35-years, we have been providing all-natural biological control agents for growers of a wide variety of crops for their pest management needs.
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
This consultative sales role involves managing a regional team to drive sales growth through the development and execution of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) plans via the Biobest Brand. The position requires up to 50% travel, building and maintaining strategic relationships with growers and key wholesalers across the Western U.S.
The successful candidate will lead efforts to identify and implement effective biological control strategies, advising customers on organism selection, release rates, and program frequency for food, ornamental, and hemp/cannabis crops—ensuring alignment with client goals and company targets.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop and execute strategic plans to enhance market presence and drive sales growth across the Western United States, with a focus on expanding our footprint in current crops, expanding into new crops, and maintaining key relationships
· Lead, motivate, and align the sales and supply chain teams to achieve sales goals, optimize distribution networks, and streamline logistics and forecasting.
· Prepare and manage annual P&L statements for territory budgets, and strategic targets in alignment with Biobest’s overall objectives. Contribute to the yearly OGAM plan and communicate these goals effectively to local team members.
· Ensure product availability through accurate forecasting and collaboration with internal purchasing and logistics teams.
· Report on sales performance, market trends, and key metrics through timely monthly reporting.
· Travel up to 50% of the time throughout the Western U.S. to visit key accounts, scout new business opportunities, and attend trade shows or conferences. Participate in in-person team meetings at the home office 2–3 times annually.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
Education:
Relevant degree in associated field (agriculture, horticulture, entomology, etc) preferred but not required.
Experience:
Relevant experience in selection and application of crop protection products in agricultural areas or greenhouses preferred but not required.
Working knowledge of integrated pest management concepts, where biological controls fit
Other:
Willingness to travel, meet new people and offer support and guidance with their best interest in mind.
