Bilingual Pre-K Aide JOB STATUS: OPEN POSTING DATE: 05/08/2025 CLOSING DATE: 05/21/2025 04:00 PM POSTING NUMBER: 049554 LOCATION: Oak Ridge Elementary - 109 POSITION TITLE: Bilingual Pre-K Aide JOB DESCRIPTION: Assist teacher in preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements. To facilitate and assist in providing a quality program of instruction designed to meet the affective, linguistic and cognitive needs of students. Work under supervision of certified teacher. DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: * Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays. * Assist bilingual teacher in providing quality dual-language instruction for limited English proficient students. * Support and carry out activities related to the educational program. * Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments. * Help maintain neat and orderly classroom. * Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment. * Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports. * Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers. * Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher; work with individual students or small groups. * Help supervise students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty. * Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students. * Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance * Participate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned. * Maintain confidentiality. * Regular attendance. * Other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE: * Some experience working with children QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: * High school diploma or GED * Valid Texas educational aide certificate (must obtain within 30 days of employment) Special Knowledge/Skills: * Ability to work well with children * Ability to communicate effectively * Fluent in Spanish * Excellent communication skills in Spanish and in English * Ability to follow oral and written instructions CONTACT INFORMATION: Mental Demands/ Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress.
