Where You Will Work
This position is located in Chantilly, VA.
What You Bring
Flexwind is looking for a full-time experienced Principal Big Data ETL Engineer to extract, transform, load, engineering and development of big data using Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Metadata tagging and link analysis.
Responsibilities
- Apply technical skills and experience in working with structured and unstructured data for ingest into a variety of applications.
- Monitor data loads and fix errors during the load process and perform quality control on ingested data.
- Write/edit and test macros, scripts, parsers, and small programs to process, load or analyze data, and perform configuration management before entering into a production baseline.
- Provide daily logs and statistics, and output from utility tools, as well as track and provide daily, weekly, monthly and yearly reports and statistics/metrics, and support COOP and emergency response activities.
- Ability to work under general direction, and independently determines approaches and develops innovative solutions to improve efficiency and quality of data loads.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a TS security clearance with Full Scope Polygraph.
- Bachelor’s Degree in an IT-related field with a minimum of three years of data processing experience. Note: In lieu of a degree, an additional five years of related experience may be substituted.
- Experience working with structured and unstructured data.
- Experience with at least one programming language (Python preferred).
- Demonstrated experience with computer file management in Windows and UNIX/Linux environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Deadline and detail oriented.
- Experience working in a Customer Facility.
- Ability to perform with minimum direction.

Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering.
- Big Data or TRL experience.
- Natural Language Processing (NLP).
- Metadata tagging and link analysis.
- Experience with script and/or parser development to extract structured and unstructured data from files.
- Growing interest in natural language processing and machine learning.
- Experience writing customer reports.
- Experience with computer file management in Windows and UNIX/Linux.
- Experience with a variety of scripting languages (such as Perl or Python).
- Demonstrated ability to work in teams with a collaborative interpersonal style.
- Experience in the Intelligence Community.
