General Summary
Analyzes credit union transactional and financial data. Provides business intelligence to all areas of the credit union. Designs and develops business intelligence solutions for the enterprise.
Principal Accountabilities (95%)
Working closely with business units, assess, documents, designs and codes ETL processes, OLAP and reporting needs.
Designs and builds the enterprise data warehouse using Lodestar BI Solutions, Oracle SQL, Microsoft SQL Server.
Performs data validation to ensure accuracy of information presented to the executive team.
Leverages in-depth knowledge of financial principles, statistical analysis concepts, and financial data supporting the credit union’s critical business needs.
Develops Summary, Detail and Dashboard reports and management summaries which represent data findings for target audiences.
Participates in gaining consensus on guidelines and metric definitions.
Performs consistent quality review of data and report results.
Documents report processes and logic applied to reporting.
Performs analysis using business intelligence tools
Analyzes findings and provides actionable insights and recommendations based on analysis and in-depth studies.
Monitor and manage daily and monthly processes on primary systems. Schedule and maintain jobs, programs and tasks in Lodestar and Raddon.
Secondary Accountabilities (5%)
Handles special projects
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with BSA requirements as commensurate with position.
Position Requirement and Qualifications
Abilities:
Must have strong SQL programming skills using PL/SQL Developer, Transact-SQL, including the ability to perform data profiling. Must be able to lead in the adoption of ETL Technologies, standards and best practices. Excellent technical skills with MS Office Suites. Able to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities. Ability to produce accurate and precise work. Must be able to detect discrepancies and resolve them while meeting deadlines. Able to work in a cross-functional or matrix environment; able to work with all levels within the organization and with outside contacts. Must work effectively, independently and as part of a team. Extreme attention to detail to ensure accuracy of data. Advanced analytical, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to formulate and communicate data processes, findings and recommendations. Good judgment and decision-making skills.
Knowledge, Education, Certifications, Licenses:
Strong knowledge of data warehousing methodologies and concepts. Strong job knowledge in a financial organization. Extensive knowledge in loan origination systems, general ledger and transaction databases (Oracle and SQL Server Databases). A degree or coursework in Information Technology, Computer Science or a similar field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of in-depth experience in business data mining, data-warehousing, business intelligence to include analysis, interpretation and reporting using administrative data sets; the use of varied statistical methods; and report preparation and presentation to a senior management to gain the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to handle all aspects of the position, in a comparable environment, or equivalent.
