What you'll be doing...
Would you like the challenge of keeping us at our best? You'll help us take care of our greatest asset-our people-by helping them stay well. You'll be using your program design and vendor management expertise to enhance our health benefits and employee experience.
* Managing U.S. domestic employee benefit programs, such as active medical, dental, vision, and RX benefit plan design and strategy.
* Managing the day-to-day relationships with key suppliers and outside consultants.
* Project managing medical plan projects such as RFPs, implementation of vendor changes, and/or plan design changes. Ensure alignment across key milestones and program deliverables, including all privacy, legal, security, and related requirements are met.
* Monitoring healthcare plan vendor reports and recommending plan design changes to address trends. Use data analytics to ensure understanding of impact and outcomes against program objectives. Identify opportunities to gain efficiencies, improve plan performance, and encourage employee self-service.
* Evaluating the financial performance of the health plans and identifying key cost drivers using data analytics and leveraging our data warehouse.
* Supporting SPDs, SBCs, benefit communications, and other plan documents to ensure that all plan provisions are accurately reflected. Assure corporate compliance with laws and regulations governing employer-sponsored health and insurance benefit plans, such as ERISA, HIPAA, Affordable Care Act (ACA), etc. Review state and federal laws pertaining to Verizon's benefits plans, analyze the impact of any changes, and provide recommendations to Verizon leadership.
* Managing special projects, including impacts on benefits resulting from acquisitions, divestitures, legislation, and Annual Enrollment testing to ensure proper plan setup.
* Managing labor-related requirements for medical plans.
What you'll be doing…
You'll need to have:
* Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
* Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
* Four or more years of work experience in either a corporate employee benefits Human Resources department or with a healthcare vendor.
* Experience managing vendors and medical plans.
* Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
* A degree.
* Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships as well as work collaboratively across departments and vendors.
* Excellent financial and analytical abilities.
* Experience in evaluating data and trends into actionable insights that will support broader plan strategy.
* Ability to survey the external marketplace and understand trends and opportunities outside of Verizon in order to help inform strategy.
* Experience in managing complex projects/competing deadlines.
* Experience with collective bargaining benefits.
* Strong PC skills including Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
Where you'll be working
In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
The annually salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $97,500.00 - $170,000.00.
