What You’ll Do As a Benefits Analyst

  • Support the administration of employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and leave programs.
  • Respond to employee questions related to benefit plans, enrollment, life events, and leave options.
  • Assist employees with benefit-related tasks such as enrolling in plans and understanding available options.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to help resolve benefits-related issues.
  • Contribute to annual open enrollment efforts, including employee communications and data tracking.
  • Audit benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations in HR systems in line with company policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Help ensure compliance with benefit-related laws and regulations such as HIPAA, FMLA, ACA, and COBRA.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in the HRIS system.
  • Track and update employee leaves of absence, assist with documentation, and respond to questions related to various types of leave.
  • Administer and assist with all leave-related inquiries, including sending leave contact information to employees and verifying proper FMLA tracking.
  • Monitor payroll deductions related to benefits and help reconcile any discrepancies.
  • Prepare insurance premium cancellation and seasonal layoff letters.
  • Update and maintain logs such as the Insurance Eligibility Log, Benefits Eligibility Log, Insurance Reconciliation Log, and Weekly Payroll Changes spreadsheet.
  • Process Medical Support Orders and Approved Status Changes.
  • Help with new hire on-boarding by reviewing and tracking background checks, drug screens, and required documentation.
  • Run reports (e.g., personnel changes, time off, address/birthday lists) to support benefits tracking, compliance, and employee engagement.
  • Manage referral bonus communications and ensure appropriate processing.
  • Update employee tracking systems and organization charts.
  • Process employee separations.
  • Ensure required employee training is completed.
  • Request and maintain e-Rail badges via the eRail website.
  • Support other HR activities and projects as needed.

What You’ll Need

  • To be 18 years of age or older
  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience in Human Resources and/or Benefits, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • General knowledge of employee benefits and relevant HR laws (e.g., FMLA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA)
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to follow established procedures
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (-, Word, Excel) and Google Mail & Drive; HRIS experience a plus
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality
  • Team player with strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Pay Range $55K - $65K / Yr.
