Job Summary
The Behavioral Emergency Response Team (BERT) Program Manager will support the care of patients on medical surgical units who have psychiatric, behavioral, and/or substance use concerns. They will function as an expert resource and work collaboratively with the psychiatric, medical and other multidisciplinary teams. They will support patient care through direct consultation, coaching/mentoring, learning needs assessment, formal and informal education, and providing guidance to the Upstate Staff.
Minimum Qualifications
Will accept one of the following combinations by time of appointment:
- PHD or PsyD in Psychology and NYS licensed (or eligible) Psychologist
- Masters in Social Work and NYS licensed (or eligible) Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
- Masters in Nursing and NYS licensed (or eligible) Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry (NP) or Registered Nurse (RN)
AND three years of related post licensure experience required. Prior leadership experience required. CPR-BLS required by time of appointment. Must successfully pass any pre-employment and credentialing clearances.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in crisis intervention or de-escalation training preferred. Psychiatric certification preferred. Experience with evidence-based psychotherapy modality and/or geriatric experience preferred.
