Job Summary:

The Beauty Editor oversees the beauty section; creating and managing relevant content in different multimedia formats such as (but not limited to) short and long-form articles, art card text, photo and video captions for the website and social media properties. This position will manage contributors, attend important events for the brand, producing shoots, and be a key member of the team in various editorial initiatives.

General Responsibilities

• Plan and create a compelling editorial content line up for the Beauty section
• Pitch story ideas based on website data, editorial voice and direction
• Does research and validates stories/photos/videos submitted to the site
• Participate in the weekly pitch meetings and collaborate with the editorial team
• Oversee the performance of the Beauty section through data analytics
• Manage freelance writers and contributors under the Beauty section
• Promote articles and engagement posts on the brand's various social media platforms
• Strategize & spearhead initiatives that will contribute to the Beauty section's growth in pageviews, video views, and users
• Assist the team in producing shoots, including monthly digital covers, videos, and features
• Attend and represent the brand in important events
• Collaborate with the revenue team, as needed
• Attend to important breaking news that are relevant to the Beauty section, as needed
• Build and maintain a database of industry contacts
• Other duties assigned by immediate superior

Qualification

• Graduated with a degree in Journalism, Mass Communications, or any related field
• 4-5 years experience working in the publishing and/or media industry

Skills and Abilities:

• Writing, editing, interviewing personalities, networking, using a Content Management System (CMS).
• Excellent organization, communication, and writing skills.
• Able to work outside standard working hours (occasional evenings and weekends).
• Strong editorial judgment.
