Summary

Provide oversight and directions of the Bilingual Access Line (BAL) program service and staff. Establish and maintain partnerships, fiscal oversight, quality services and high levels of ethics and integrity to meet the demands of culturally diverse needs of the LEP community. Supports a culture of high performance aligned with the strategic goals of the organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement short and long-term strategic plans, goals, and objectives for sustaining the Bilingual Access Line (BAL) program. This includes the use of marketing strategies (and other tools) to assist with achieving program goals.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate BAL policies and procedure. Recommends new approaches and/or amends existing policies and procedures to effect continual improvement of efficiency of interpretation and translation services.
  • Develop and establish collaborative relationships with all public, private, funder groups and individuals, including community service providers, to ensure appropriate delivery of services for the community. This includes the use of stakeholder surveys, group memberships, off-site meetings, etc. to stay current with LEP community trends and needs.
  • Develop and monitor budget forecasts against actual fiscal reports, and take corrective measures as appropriate to fiscally sustain BAL.
  • Ensure that all contractual requirements are met.
  • Recruit, monitor and develop staff. Supervise the quality of interpretation and translation services.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Maintains a structure that fits the needs of the business.
  • Recruit, train and supervise staff, perform evaluations and corrective and/or disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Recruit and train volunteers as needed.
  • Ensure that reports and documents are submitted in an accurate and timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or social science field from an accredited college or university and/or two (2) to three (3) years professional level business experience.
  • Prior Supervisory experience.
  • Effective communication skills (i.e. verbal, written and listening).
  • Working knowledge of Windows and other MS programs.
  • Ability to work directly, cooperatively, and collaboratively with multi-faceted and multi-ethnic programs, staff, and volunteer force.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to us properly insured car.
