Role Overview
As a Backend Software Engineer at Wittify.ai, you will play a critical role in building and scaling the infrastructure behind our AI agents. You will collaborate closely with AI engineers, product managers, and platform teams to develop Model Coordination Platforms (MCPs), orchestrate Large Language Models (LLMs), enhance Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, and scale agentic AI workflows.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain backend services that coordinate and manage AI agents and workflows.
- Build, manage, and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) databases to strengthen agentic AI systems.
- Develop scalable AI pipelines for data ingestion, preprocessing, model orchestration, and output generation.
- Build and maintain Model Coordination Platform (MCP) servers to orchestrate complex AI interactions.
- Integrate seamlessly with external MCP servers, LLMs, and broader AI infrastructure.
- Develop robust APIs and microservices to expose backend AI and agentic functionalities.
- Architect highly scalable, efficient, and reliable backend systems ready for production-grade AI workloads.
- Collaborate closely with AI researchers and product teams to transform innovative ideas into live systems.
- Monitor, debug, and continuously optimize system performance, scalability, and security.
- Follow best practices in code quality, testing, observability, and security for AI-intensive environments.
- Stay up to date with advancements in agent frameworks, LLM APIs, RAG technologies, and backend development best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field from a reputable university.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Strong expertise in building and scaling backend services (REST, gRPC, event-driven architectures).
- Practical experience integrating and orchestrating Large Language Models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, or others).
- Familiarity with Model Coordination Platforms (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, or custom architectures).
- Solid understanding of agentic AI patterns, autonomous agents, and multi-agent system design.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable RAG databases and AI data pipelines.
- Proficiency in Python and Node.js for backend development.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL) and vector search engines (e.g., Pinecone, FAISS, Weaviate).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-autonomy environment, balancing innovation with technical excellence.
