Job Overview: Backend Engineer
We’re looking for a skilled Backend Engineer with expertise in building scalable, high-performance APIs and managing relational databases. If you are proficient in Python, FastAPI, and PostgreSQL and enjoy developing backend systems that power a cloud-native platform, we’d love to hear from you!
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain backend APIs using Python, FastAPI, Pydantic, and SQLAlchemy.
• Build robust, scalable, and secure architectures for delivering high-performance backend solutions.
• Design, optimize, and manage relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) to ensure data integrity and efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with front-end developers, DevOps engineers, and product managers to deliver comprehensive solutions.
• Implement best practices for API security, performance, and scalability.
• Utilize version control systems (Git) and maintain effective collaboration through branching and pull requests.
• Deploy backend systems on cloud environments (preferably AWS) and contribute to infrastructure planning.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues effectively and promptly.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold high standards for quality, maintainability, and security.
Requirements
• 2+ years of backend development experience.
• Proficiency in Python, FastAPI, Pydantic, and SQLAlchemy.
• Strong understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred).
• Experience with RESTful APIs and version control systems (Git).
• Familiarity with cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong ability to work effectively in a collaborative, agile team environment.
Extra Points if You Have
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with API authentication (e.g., Auth0, SSO) and security best practices.
• Prior experience in a SaaS or manufacturing domain.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Understanding of scalability, performance optimization, and database tuning.
