As a Backend Developer in the Streaming team, you will…

…play a vital role in making sure everything just works when a user hits the “Play” button. From processing playback requests to ensuring our end-to-end streaming pipeline runs reliably and efficiently, you'll help deliver smooth, high-quality TV experiences to millions of viewers across the Nordics.

You’ll be working on a large-scale platform, continuously building new functionality within a modern microservices architecture. Our microservices run in Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service), enabling us to scale with confidence while delivering consistent performance. Our apps run on all major device platforms — mobile, tablets, PCs, Apple TV, Chromecast — through our flagship service, Telia Play.

In this cloud-native environment, you’ll collaborate with talented engineers, designers, and product owners to solve real-world challenges that directly influence how and what people watch every day. Whether it’s scaling our platform, enhancing performance, or integrating with world-class content providers, your contributions will be key to our success.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone with over 5 years of professional experience in Java, particularly in developing distributed systems and microservices. You should have solid experience working in cloud-native environments, and hands-on knowledge of Spring Boot, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform (Infrastructure as Code). Experience running services in Amazon EKS is a strong plus. You are professionally proficient in English and a strong collaborator within cross-functional teams. Most importantly, you have a curious mindset and are eager to learn, share, and continuously improve — both personally and as part of a team.
