The
Back End Developer will work from our Bucharest office while collaborating with the Global MassMutual teams. The person who will join this role will report to an IT Delivery Manager from Romania.

Back-End Developer to join our team.
The ideal candidate for this role is a hands-on software engineer who can work both independently and as part of a team under the guidance of a Technical Lead. The main responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining scalable back-end solutions for Product Designer.
Responsibilities
The Back-End Developer will play a key role in:
- Designing and implementing scalable back-end solutions for product data workflows.
- Collaborating with Enterprise Architects and Back-End Developers to ensure system reliability, security, and maintainability.
- Collaborating with Front-End Developers to define API contracts and ensure efficient data retrieval.
- Analyzing existing system capabilities, identifying areas for enhancement, and implementing modifications to meet evolving business needs.
- Document key technical implementations and decisions to support development and system understanding.
Requirements
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving mindset

- Experienced with Java 17, Spring Boot, Spring Framework
- Experienced with NoSQL (MongoDB) and SQL (DB2, Postgres) databases
- Experienced with REST and GraphQL API
- Experienced with build systems: Gradle and Maven
- Experienced with testing paradigms and technologies (Junit5, Mockito)
- Knowledge of Spark, EMR and other large scale ETL technologies
- Knowledge of CI & CD (Git, Jenkins, Artifactory)
- Experience with AWS Services (S3, EMR, EKS, ALB, etc.)
- Understanding of OKTA, IAM in AWS and Security implementations.
- Strong technical acumen in implementing enterprise applications and software integration
- Strong knowledge of OOP and clean code/clean architecture principles
- Ability to create clear and structured technical documentation
Education And Experience
- BS/BA required
- Minimum 5 years as a back-end developer designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining large scale applications
- Minimum 5 years of experience implementing large scale enterprise solution in J2EE and Data Integration
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Java 17, Spring, Hibernate, AWS Services, Docker/Kubernetes
- Minimum 3 years of experience in relational and No SQL databases
- Independent and self-starter with extensive experience in an agile/adaptable environment
