Job Description:

We are seeking a Backend Data Specialist responsible for building and optimizing data applications, ensuring the quality and accessibility of data, and supporting the team in developing scalable backend solutions. The role requires a strong focus on backend development, database management, and data analytics. You will support our goals of customer-centric product development and rapid iteration.

What You’ll Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain data infrastructure for data collection, transformation, and storage.
• Work with the product team to understand data requirements and provide insights that inform product development.
• Optimize backend systems for scalability, reliability, and performance, focusing on high availability.
• Collaborate with full-stack engineers and other stakeholders to ensure the efficient integration of data-driven solutions.
• Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance with privacy regulations.
• Support the development of data visualization and reporting as part of our offering.
• Maintain an agile approach to development, prioritizing speed and efficiency while ensuring high-quality results.
• Mentor, grow, and share knowledge with other team members. Take an active part in creating a growing team with excellent practices.

Who You Are:

• 5+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer, with at least 3 of those years focusing on data systems and backend development.
• Strong knowledge of database management systems (mainly NoSQL) and experience with large-scale data handling.
• Experience working with data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Proficient in backend programming languages (preferably Node.js or Python).
• Familiarity with cloud-based data storage solutions and services (preferably AWS and GCP).
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
• A strong team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
