Job Title: Senior Backend Developer (Python with Django)

Position Overview:

We are seeking highly accomplished Senior Backend developer who can be the part of the GEDU IT Engineering Team at GEDU Noida. The person should preferably have worked as Backend Engineer, Python in any Software Product development organization and has experience in delivering scalable Web/Mobile/SaaS/Cloud Products in agile methodology.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Highly motivated individual who can deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from planning and design to implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements, estimates, and contributes to create acceptance criteria.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and quality.
• Participate and contribute to regular team meetings, code reviews, and performance optimization.
• Able to Identify and address technical and functional challenges to maintain project momentum.
• Monitoring and managing software deployment, including troubleshooting, and resolving any issues that may arise during the deployments.
• Foster a positive team environment, encouraging collaboration and professional growth.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and organizational policies in the software deliveries.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering/science or a related field
• Minimum of 5 to 8 years of professional experience in web application development, with a strong focus on Django and Django Rest Framework
• Ability to work with RESTful APIs, PostgreSQL, Celery, Redis.
• Extensive experience with multithreading and multiprocessing techniques to optimize application performance.
• Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token
• Strong understanding of software design principles, API development, and database optimization.
• Knowledge of database systems, including SQL/NoSQL concepts
• Prior experience in the Education Technology Domain is a plus
• Preferred experience with SCORM and Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) standards and integration.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
• Familiarity with SCRUM - Agile development methodologies
• Version Control: Proficient in Git and AWS Repos, experienced in code reviews and applying industry best practices for code refactoring.
• Collaboration & Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience working in global teams and coordinating across departments.
• Experience of code review and code refactoring with best industry practices.
• Ability to learn and implement new technologies in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Nice to have Skills and Qualifications:

• Extensive experience with AWS services: Proficient in utilizing a wide range of AWS tools and services S3 bucket to design, deploy, and scale web applications in cloud environments, ensuring high availability and reliability.
• Adaptability in fast-paced startup environments: Demonstrated success in contributing to dynamic, fast-moving teams within startup cultures, where innovation, quick decision-making, and collaboration are essential to drive business growth.
• Strong background in Agile methodologies (SCRUM & Iterative): Skilled in working within Agile frameworks to work with cross-functional teams and deliver high-quality, timely software solutions.
