Senior Backend Engineer (Hybrid | Tribeca, NYC)

We’re hiring a seasoned Backend Engineer to join a fast-growing, venture-backed startup in the travel & lifestyle space. This is a unique opportunity to shape the architecture and core functionality of a platform used by thousands of independent professionals.

Location: Hybrid – 3 days a week in our Tribeca, NYC office (Mon/Tues/Thurs)

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
• Collaborate closely with product and design teams to implement user-focused features
• Lead technical architecture discussions and end-to-end system design
• Develop and maintain systems for booking, content management, and partner integrations
• Uphold best practices in code quality, testing, and documentation

Tech Stack

• Python (Django or Flask)
• Postgres / SQLAlchemy / other ORMs
• RESTful APIs and distributed systems
• AWS (bonus: experience with Lambda, S3, RDS)
• Kubernetes (a plus)

What We’re Looking For

• 6+ years of backend development experience
• Strong Python skills and comfort with modern web frameworks
• Solid understanding of API design and cloud infrastructure
• Clear communicator and collaborative mindset
• Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment is a plus
