Our mission? To make shared transportation accessible to everyone by introducing sustainable mobility options for communities. Through smart technology and user-friendly apps, we deliver a seamless user experience.

Our current offerings include shared cars and boats, but we are at the start of a major expansion into new customer segments and transportation options. This expansion underscores our mission to make transportation accessible to everyone in the community, supported by flexible subscription models.

For over three years, Vloto has been developing its unique community-focused shared mobility concept. Starting from our test area in the “De Krijgsman” neighborhood in Muiden—where our investor KNSF is developing 1,300 homes—we’ve built a solid foundation and are expanding this year to many new communities, growing our fleet from 80 to 300 vehicles. Our ambition reaches far: transforming mobility both nationally and internationally.

About the team

The tech team consists of six members: two back-end developers, two front-end developers, a designer, and a product owner. Together, we aim to position Vloto as a leader in shared transportation.

About the role 💻

You will be responsible for designing, delivering, deploying, and monitoring reliable software solutions in a production environment. Your role requires a keen interest in modern web applications and APIs, and the ability to integrate these technologies in collaboration with your colleagues. You must be eager to learn, continuously improve your skills, and contribute to the evolution of our platform. You will collaborate closely with our designer, product owner, operations specialists, and other developers to create, test, and launch new features. 🚀

Your responsibilities:

• Developing new features for our consumer app and internal tools with a focus on scalability and performance.
• Collaborating with designers, developers, and the product owner to deliver an optimal user experience.
• Actively contributing to the technical roadmap, architectural decisions, and other improvements.
• Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Implement best practices for data integrity, security, logging, and continuous monitoring of back-end systems.

Together with your colleagues you will work on four innovative products:

1️⃣ Consumer-facing Vloto App: Used by 1,300+ active users, handling 500+ rides per week.

2️⃣ Vloter App: Used by our “Vloters” for tasks like cleaning and charging the cars.

3️⃣ Back-End Dashboard: A powerful data platform providing insights into our fleet, growth, user behavior, and CO₂ savings.

4️⃣ VlotoTaxi App: Used by taxi drivers.

Who are you?

You’re an entrepreneurial full stack developer with at least 3 years of experience in server-side programming, database management, and API design. You enjoy solving complex, data-heavy challenges, taking ownership of projects, and maintaining high-quality standards in code. You thrive agile environments and can adapt quickly to changing requirements.

Do you recognize yourself in most of the following?

• PHP & Laravel: Strong foundation in PHP, ideally with Laravel or similar frameworks.
• Databases: Proficient with MySQL, including query optimization
• APIs: Skilled in designing and consuming RESTful/JSON APIs
• Server Management: Familiarity with Linux environments, SSH, and basic server orchestration
• Version Control: Knowledge of Git and GitHub

Nice to have:

• CI/CD: Hands-on experience with automated build, test, and deployment workflows
