Our client, an established telecommunications company based in Dallas, TX, is seeking a skilled Backend Software Engineer to join their engineering team. This role focuses on building and maintaining scalable backend systems that support their core communication services. While the company is headquartered in Dallas, remote work is possible for candidates with strong technical alignment and proven experience in distributed systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend APIs and microservices for high-availability telecom systems
• Optimize performance and scalability of server-side applications
• Integrate with third-party systems and internal tools via RESTful APIs or message queues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across multiple environments
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture planning

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in backend software development
• Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Go, Java, Python, or Node.js
• Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB)
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container orchestration tools
• Knowledge of distributed systems, caching, and API best practices

Bonus Qualifications:

• Prior experience in telecom or VoIP-related backend systems
• Familiarity with WebRTC, SIP, or other telecom protocols
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines
