Hours: 20-30 hrs/wk on a varied schedule, including some evenings and weekends.

Period: Year-round

The Experience:

Are you self-propelled, energetic, creative, and organized? Do you like startups and people, and enjoy talking to kids? Do you roll with the punches and pride yourself on mastering the hands-on craft of marketing and are you also ready to develop your strategic skills? Then we should talk about the part-time Marketing Manager role at The Robo Hub.

The Robo Hub is creating a new type of “third place” for families and communities, focused around robotics, AI, and technology. Our spacious and welcoming Cambridge space is centrally located in Cambridge and features free parking. Our programs are loved by kids, parents, and educators, and we have a stellar customer satisfaction record. We’re looking for the right person to help us bring in new customers. You will report directly to the Founder and have a say in marketing decisions.

About you:

Ideally, you should have:

  • Experience in a hands-on marketing role for an in-person, location-based organization. The number of years of experience is less important than your ability to demonstrate a track record with learning and metrics.
  • Intuitive understanding of parents as a customer.
  • Effective and time-proven approaches to organizing and running a successful community event and for pulling random people into a conversation
  • Examples of emails, images and videos you produced (or gotten others to produce to your original spec), with a story about results you generated
  • Demonstrable social media history, especially on FB, IG, and LinkedIn, and the ability to get others to comment and multiply your posts. For bonus points - you’ve worked with others to spread social media content to non-English-speaking communities (Chinese would be fantastic, but not required)
  • High comfort level using AI and other tools to accelerate your results
  • Love of the marketing discipline and ambition to grow your strategic skills
  • You are a unicorn if you also have some understanding of at least one of the following: SEO, PPC, PR, or website design

Core Responsibilities:

As a Marketing Manager you will be expected to:

  • Own the critical marketing channels:
  • Events, including planning and attending (or securing and supporting other staff to attend) company and community tabling events.
  • Social media, including managing a content calendar
  • Email marketing campaigns
  • Own the marketing content repository with design assets, templates, marketing documentation, images, videos, and other materials.
  • Support the team (Founder and Program Director) in other promotional activities, including PR, PPC, website development, sales effort, budgeting, staffing, and strategy development

Expect to:

  • Be on site, at events, and in the community a lot, interacting with families and kids
  • Have a high degree of ownership
  • Be asked to push limits
