Job Title: Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Contract – Remote, US Citizens Only)


Location: Remote (U.S.-based – primary tax location: Chicago)

Duration: Short-term (Project-based, < 3 months)

Work Schedule: Full-time, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Flexible)

Pay : $40 / Hour


Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer for a short-term contract engagement. This role focuses on the deployment of existing infrastructure and microservices into a FedRAMP-compliant environment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, primarily Bicep and Terraform. The successful candidate will contribute to the deployment, security standardization, and documentation of cloud services within Microsoft Azure, supporting a video services product.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy existing infrastructure and microservices to a FedRAMP-compliant Azure environment.
  • Utilize existing IaC codebases (Bicep and Terraform) to provision, configure, and manage Azure resources such as:
  • Virtual Machines
  • Networking components (VNets, Subnets, Firewalls, Load Balancers)
  • Storage Accounts
  • Databases (SQL, Cosmos DB)
  • App Services and serverless functions
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment using tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
  • Execute required security scans and ensure all code meets FedRAMP security and standardization requirements.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance, availability, and cost of the deployed Azure infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot deployment-related and post-deployment issues in coordination with development and operations teams.
  • Document infrastructure changes, security configurations, and deployment processes to support future releases.
  • Stay current with Azure deployment best practices and cloud security trends.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong hands-on experience deploying Azure services using Bicep and Terraform.
  • Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automation.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices in infrastructure deployments.
  • Solid knowledge of networking, cloud security, and monitoring within Azure.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote team environment.


Must-Have Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship (required due to government contract restrictions; no Green Cards or Visa holders).
  • Proven expertise in deploying Azure cloud infrastructure using Bicep and Terraform.
  • Mid-level proficiency in Java, Bicep, and Terraform.
