We are looking for an exceptional Solutions Architect who loves implementing AWS services and resides in the Washington DC, Austin, TX or Denver, CO areas. Previous experience with AWS GovCloud is a huge plus as we are taking on more and more business helping customers meet compliance and security requirements onshore.
As an AWS Solutions Architect at Commit, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions for our clients' cloud-based infrastructure using AWS services. You will work closely with prospects, clients, internal teams, and AWS resources to architect and deliver solutions that meet the clients' business objectives and requirements.
Responsibilities:
Solution Design: Collaborate with prospects and clients to understand their business needs, technical requirements, and existing infrastructure. Based on these, design and architect AWS-based solutions that align with industry best practices, security standards, scalability, and cost optimization.
Technical Expertise: Demonstrate expertise in AWS services, architectures, and solutions. Keep up-to-date with the latest AWS technologies, trends, and best practices. Provide technical guidance and recommendations to clients and internal teams on leveraging AWS services effectively.
Client Engagement: Engage with prospects and clients in pre-sales and post-sales activities, including requirements gathering, solution presentations, and technical discussions. Build strong relationships with clients, understanding their business challenges, and providing appropriate solutions to meet their needs.
Solution Implementation: Lead or support the implementation of AWS solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams as needed. Ensure successful deployment of solutions, troubleshoot issues, and provide guidance on ongoing management and optimization.
Security and Compliance: Design and implement solutions that adhere to industry-standard security practices and compliance requirements. Assess and mitigate potential security risks, recommending and implementing appropriate security measures to protect clients' data and systems.
Documentation and Training: Create and maintain technical documentation, including solution architecture diagrams, deployment guides, and best practice documents.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
5+ years of experience with complex customer production environments
At least 5 years work with AWS services
Expert level experience with AWS container services like EKS and ECS
Expert level experience with AWS data and analytics services like RDS and Redshift
Mastery of standard industry OS (Windows and Linux) and common industry frameworks
Mastery of AWS directory and access control services including Organizations, Control Tower, IAM; industry standard directory services like Active Directory
Extensive experience in designing and implementing AWS solutions to Well-Architected and other industry standards
AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional level certification is strongly preferred
Demonstrated experience in solution design, architecture, and deployment of scalable and secure cloud-based solutions
Strong knowledge of networking concepts, security best practices, and cloud infrastructure architecture
Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with clients, technical teams, and stakeholders
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and provide practical solutions
Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Either: Extensive software architecture and development background with lead design or architect roles in multiple products and projects -or- Extensive background working with AWS data services including database, data lake/warehouse, analytics, and ML data operations

Experience with Automation provisioning using Terraform or CloudFormation
Experience with deployment tools either Jenkins/Ansible/Puppet/Code Pipeline
Experience with Designing and Deploying High Available & Disaster Recovery Solutions
Highly qualified in writing Design Documents, Procedures, Proposals
Experience working with an Advanced or Premier-Tier AWS Partner
Familiarity with AWS Migration Acceleration Programs (MAP)
