Job Description

The AWS Cloud Systems Engineer will focus on providing comprehensive support for Windows and Linux servers in AWS, on-premises desktops, and applications. This role involves software/hardware installation, proactive system monitoring, and problem resolution, ensuring the smooth operation of system hardware, software, and infrastructure. AWS experience is essential, as 95% of the servers are hosted in AWS.

Essential Functions

• AWS Expertise: Experience and certifications in EC2, ECS, IAM, Lambda, FSx, RDS, Workspaces, AWS EDR, AWS Backup, Route 53, S3, and Terraform.
• System Design and Implementation: Design, build, and configure AWS services to meet business needs.
• Optimization: Enhance infrastructure performance and manage costs.
• System Maintenance: Ensure monitoring, logging, and maintenance of cloud components.
• Security: Apply best practices to secure AWS environments.
• Collaboration: Work with IT and development teams to adopt AWS innovations.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve system issues effectively.
• Education and Documentation: Train teams on cloud technologies and document infrastructure changes.
• Reporting: Participate in governance and audit activities.
  
  

Responsibilities

• Provide Level III technical support and collaborate with the IT Help Desk.
• Manage backups, system logs, DNS, SMTP, DHCP, and other network components.
• Perform server installations, upgrades, and maintenance.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and technical documentation.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies aligning with IT strategies.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Expertise with Microsoft server systems and AWS services.
• Familiarity with SNMP gateways, DHCP, DNS, and Route 53.
• Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect preferred.
