• Become a subject matter expert for AWS security in APAC region.
• Design and implement AWS security controls and services to meet organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Configure and manage AWS services like IAM, VPC, Security Groups, KMS, WAF, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, and AWS Config.
• Design and implement 3rd party firewall virtual appliance.
• Collaborate with the cloud engineering team to review proposed AWS architecture, ensuring security is applied at all layers, including network, identity and access management (IAM), governance, data encryption, and logging/monitoring.
• Review and provide feedback on infrastructure code (Terraform) to ensure security standards are met.
• Conduct security assessments of AWS resources and configurations.
• Ensure compliance with internal security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards (e.g. CIS AWS Benchmarks, ISO 27001, ASD Information Security Manual).

Specific requirements

The skills, experience, qualifications and attributes required for this position:

• Tertiary Qualification in Computer Science, Cloud Computing or similar.
• 5+ years’ experience in AWS Cloud security.
• Knowledge of container security in AWS (e.g., EKS, ECS, Fargate).
• Proven experience in large-scale migration projects to AWS.
• In-depth knowledge of AWS security services and architecture best practices.
• Hands-on experience with configuring and managing AWS security tools (e.g., IAM, KMS, AWS Config, CloudTrail).
• Strong understanding of IaC tools such as Terraform.
• Proficiency in securing CI/CD pipelines and integrating security tools into DevOps workflows.
