Autonomy and Robotics Engineer
Position Overview
At Aurora Flight Sciences, we design, build, and fly advanced aircraft and enabling technologies from concept to reality. We are searching for a talented and self-motivated Autonomy and Robotics Engineer to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
Responsibilities
* Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for hardware and software systems.
* Develops system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.
* Develops and maintains code and integrates hardware and software components into a fully functional hardware and software system.
* Performs, integrates and documents system performance and test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
* Performs live demonstrations of working systems (hardware and software) in laboratory and field environments for stakeholder and customers.
Minimum Requirements
* Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).
* Must be US Person
* Candidates must demonstrate mastery of at least one of the following, and working knowledge or interest in a majority of the others: Robot manipulation, Actuator design, Real-time computation, Power electronics, Trajectory planning, Electromechanical system design, Machine vision, Rapid prototyping, Dynamic simulation, Math, Low-level motor control, Acceptance testing of physical robot hardware, Machine learning, Real-time control, Software engineering, Communication protocols, Embedded systems.
* Candidates must be able to design new autonomous systems including defining requirements, considering design options, selecting hardware, and designing software.
* Candidates must be able to design and implement software for data collection and decision making.
* Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Preferred Requirements
* Experience writing and winning proposals
* Knowledge of aircraft conceptual design, aircraft dynamics and controls, aircraft procedures
* - Education in the robotics-related field or equivalent demonstrated experience proposing, executing, and communicating robotics research and development.
Physical Requirements
* Must be available to be on-site at Cambridge, MA or Manassas, VA office weekly
Salary Range (Annualized USD)
* Minimum Range: $75,000.00 to $134,000.00
* Maximum Range: $93,000.00 to $165,000.00
