About Universal Air Conditioner (UAC)

Universal Air Conditioner (UAC) is a leading supplier in the $5B+ automotive A/C and HVAC replacement market. Our parts are essential for keeping vehicles on the road—supporting nearly every make and model sold across North, Central, South America, and the Caribbean for the past 50 years. We’re known for high quality, fast turnaround, and competitive pricing.

Jumpstart Your Career Beyond the Shop!

If you're a mechanic with real A/C repair experience looking for something different, this could be your next step. UAC is hiring a full-time Automotive A/C Parts Tester to help validate the fit, function, and quality of our parts—critical work that ensures our customers get the right part the first time.

This is a hands-on, technical role perfect for someone who knows A/C systems inside and out and wants to apply that knowledge in a new environment without wrenching on customer vehicles all day.

What You’ll Do
  • Inspect and test A/C and HVAC parts using OE samples, CAD drawings, and precision measurement tools.
  • Perform fitment and function tests to verify part compatibility and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot issues and support customer service teams with technical expertise.
  • Compare UAC parts with OE and competitor parts to ensure top-tier quality and performance.
  • Use basic photo editing software (Photoshop, GIMP, etc.) to annotate images for cataloging and reporting.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all findings and work closely with Product Development.

What We’re Looking For

Must Have:

  • 3–5+ years as a professional automotive mechanic.
  • Strong experience with automotive A/C repairs (compressors, evaporators, hoses, flushes, etc.).
  • Skilled in diagnosing and troubleshooting vehicle systems.
  • Familiarity with measurement tools and part inspection.
  • Basic ability to use photo editing programs for image markup and visual documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Nice to Have:

  • ASE Certifications (especially A/C-related or Light Duty series).
  • Experience with parts validation, catalog data, or AutoCare standards.

What We Offer
  • Starting at $24/hr, with higher pay based on certifications and relevant experience.
  • Bonus incentives tied to new part development milestones.
  • Hourly raises for completing ASE certifications (UAC covers your test fees!).
  • Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance.
  • Paid Time Off and Employee Discounts.
  • Growth potential in a team-first, quality-driven company.
