The purpose of the role: The Electrical Controls / PLC Technician performs root-cause analysis and analytical problem solving to resolve higher level electrical, PLC and MES issues in the manufacturing plant. ** We will communicate with candidates via the Indeed messaging app, so please ensure your notifications are turned on or you are frequently checking Indeed for messages! Job Duties May Include: Follows all site safety protocols and maintains workstation according to housekeeping expectations Working knowledge of control system networks (DeviceNet, ControlNet and EtherNet/IP). Responsible for assisting in troubleshooting and programing PLC’s, HMI’s and drives Maintain automation systems at key points in the production process Troubleshoot non-functioning components including servos, sensors, and control components Troubleshoots machine breakdowns and malfunctions utilizing working knowledge of programs and tools required to troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs. etc. Troubleshoots and repairs electrical issues Responsible for reading and understanding mechanical and electrical prints, diagrams and technical repair manuals to complete daily tasks Customer service Performs Preventative Maintenance as assigned Enter work orders and PMs into CMMS Performing assigned duties with little or no supervision Ability to work off-shift, weekends, holidays if needed Other duties as assigned If that sounds like you....here's what we need in terms of education and experience: Associates’ degree in electrical engineering, robotics, or a closely related technical field preferred Minimum of 1 year of experience in Industrial automation. General understanding of electronics and maintenance knowledge. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and priorities to meet deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships with employees and department managers. Excellent mechanical aptitude and communication skills Working knowledge of MS Excel & Word Ability to lead by example, gain respect from a team and communicate with clarity. This job operates in a manufacturing environment, and the employee is regularly exposed to loud noises and machinery in an environment that is hot in the summer / cool in the winter. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment including eye protection, hearing protection, work boots, hardhats, etc. Physical requirements Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time and perform repetitive motion type tasks regularly. Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance, and occasionally lift greater than 50 pounds. Ability to endure heat in a warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to vibration, repetitive motion, bending, lifting, twisting, crouching, reaching, pushing and/or pulling. While performing this position, the employee frequently works near powered forklifts, power tools, and automated assembly machinery.
