We are looking for a skilled and knowledgeable Smart Automation Technician to install, troubleshoot, and maintain smart home and building automation systems. This role requires a hands-on technician with a deep understanding of smart devices, IoT, and control systems. You will work with clients to enhance their living or workspace by setting up efficient, responsive, and interconnected devices. Responsibilities: System Installation: Set up and configure smart home and building automation systems, including lighting, HVAC, security, access control, and other IoT-enabled devices. Wire, mount, and test hardware components following safety and quality standards. Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to system connectivity, device interoperability, and software integration. Provide on-site or remote support to clients, ensuring a smooth and seamless experience. Customer Education: Guide clients through using their new smart automation systems, ensuring they understand basic functions, troubleshooting steps, and maintenance needs. Conduct training sessions if necessary. Maintenance and Upgrades: Conduct regular inspections and perform preventive maintenance on smart systems to ensure optimal performance. Keep systems updated with the latest firmware, software, and security patches. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of installations, repairs, configurations, and any modifications. Provide customer reports and feedback to improve service offerings. Collaborate with Sales and Development Teams: Offer insights to sales and development teams regarding client needs and emerging trends in smart automation. Assist in suggesting product upgrades or new solutions based on client feedback and observed market trends. Qualifications: Education: Technical diploma or equivalent experience in electrical engineering, electronics, or a related field. Experience: 2+ years in smart home or building automation; experience with brands like Crestron, Control4, or Lutron is a plus. Technical Skills: Knowledge of IoT protocols and platforms (e.g., Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, MQTT). Experience with installation tools, wiring, and basic electrical safety standards. Familiarity with network troubleshooting (IP addresses, router configuration, etc.). Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication abilities for client interactions and team collaboration.
