JOB SUMMARY: The Automation Technician will work with Process Engineering and Operations to meet New Product Introduction (NPI) and daily throughput demands. They will be responsible for expert operation, program creation, and maintenance of complex automation tools. The successful candidate will train employees to operate automation tools and act as a first line resource to help correct issues during daily production.
Automation Technicians are only applicable to the Die Bonder & Wire Bonder machines. Employees of those machines must be highly proficient at programming.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Prototyping, programming, manufacturing, assembly, and maintaining of electro-mechanical automation equipment.
- Enhancing Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) practices through Design of Experiments (DOE) and other methods.
- Meet On Time Delivery (OTD), First Pass Yield (FPY), throughput, and Quality Assurance (QA) targets.
- Daily reporting on Overall Operational Effectiveness (OOE) including uptime, throughput, and utilization for automation equipment.
- Creation and implementation of process work instructions and procedures.
- Maintaining inventories for consumables, hardware, and production components to support automation equipment.
- Plan, design, build and implement fixtures to ensure product is built correctly, inspected, measured and/or assembled properly to meet customer specifications.
- Perform and report on Preventative Maintenance (PM) for automation tools and relevant support items.
- Technical troubleshooting of automation and robotic equipment.
- Comply with all safety requirements and procedures.
- Provide equipment and process training to other employees as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Associate's Degree
- Experience Years: 1-3 years
- Experience Type: OR Equivalent combination of education and experience
