Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, business administration or a related field with a master's degree preferred; five years of experience in the management of business information systems to include three years of information technology supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Must be proficient in project management, especially those related to information technology. Experience in local government and public utilities preferred.
Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
Duties
The Automation Manager Will
- Supervises Automation Coordinators, in addition to other Information Technology related professionals
- Serves on the department's Information Technology leadership team and represents the department in meetings and events relating to automated and technology systems
- Manages daily operations of assigned Information Technology responsibilities (hardware and software)
- Manages IT assets acquisitions, RFP processes, and relationships between the department, vendors, contractors and the County's IST Department
- Supervises, trains and evaluates the work of technical and non-technical supervisors and staff
- Manages various departmental business information systems including hardware and software systems, architecture; security; Disaster Recovery (DR); Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA); support programs and processes; the development of policies, procedures and documentation; logistics; maintenance and upgrades; systems analysis and monitoring
- Acts as lead technical consultant to department management in identifying and analyzing automation needs and developing solutions to complex business problems
- Manages the preparation and administration of assigned department budget
- Oversees and manages assigned departmental information technology capital projects, as well, staff who are assigned projects
- Perform other work as required.

Monday - Friday; 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; includes evenings, weekends and holidays
