What will you do?

 

 

The scope of our division within Schneider Electric is to provide automation solutions for our industrial process and manufacturing customers.

 

We are seeking a highly self-motivated, customer focused, team-oriented engineer. You will primarily, but not exclusively, work on projects in the pulp and paper sector. You will work on the design, documentation, execution, and support of automation solutions for our industrial clients.

 

You should have a comprehensive experience in architecting, constructing, and integrating applications and information systems for process automation and industrial manufacturing.

 

  • Design and develop automation solutions for our industrial customers using standard Schneider Electric products. (Mainly Foxboro, Triconex, Modicon and Aveva)
  • Prepare and verify engineering documents. (Design documents, User Guide, Test documents).
  • Provide internal or external consulting services in the context of automation solutions.
  • Analyze and solve technical problems related to technologies or specific customer requirements.
  • Direct or influence the technical direction of application integration and plant intelligence solutions.
  • Intereact with customers on projects or to support existing installations.

 

 

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Automation or related).
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in automation.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in Quebec or Ontario. Candidates who are eligible to become a professional engineer within a year could also be considered.
  • Experience in process automation using DCS and PLC.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Interpersonal skills and working with customers.
  • Be self-sufficient, ability to work in a hybrid work environment, as well with colleagues locating in remote offices.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% in North America.
  • For Quebec-based candidates functional French is required.

 

Preferred skills

  • Experience in Pulp and Paper industry (Batch Digesters, QCS and other advance applications).
  • Experience with Aveva products (System Platform).
  • Experience with Schneider Electric products ((Modicon, Foxboro, Triconex).
