Automation Engineer General

Job Summary

Our client in Dearborn, MI is looking for an Automation Engineer General. This is a contract position.

What You Will Do

As a Supplier Technical Assistance Engineer you will represent the Company at supplier manufacturing facilities, travelling up to 80% of the time. You will take a leadership role and with our suppliers regarding product launch and current model quality and capacity. You will be empowered to make quality decisions on behalf of the Company and authorize legal documents such as the Part Submission Warrant.

Basics

• Bachelor's of Science Degree in Engineering (ME, EE, ChE, IE).
• Minimum 5+ years experience in Quality Engineering, Quality Systems/Processes (ex. IATF), Continous Improvement, or Lean in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical problem solving skills.
• Strong knowledge of AIAG APQP and PPAP processes.
• Strong Manufacturing Background, Program management and basic computer skills.
• Quality Systems knowledge/experience.
• High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse people, leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

• Problem solving skills such as Green Belt / Black Belt, Red X, etc.
• Manufacturing processes include: Molding, Coating/Painting, Assembly, etc Preferred commodity experience includes any one of the following: Exterior Lighting (ex. Headlamps, Taillamps), Mechanisms (ex. Latches), Glass (ex. Windshield), Moon Roofs, etc.
• Professional Certifications (ex. CQE, CQM, etc.).
