On behalf of our client, a leading organisation in the manufacturing sector, we are currently seeking an experienced Automation Engineer with a strong background in Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS). Based in Galway, this is a full-time, permanent role ideal for someone who enjoys working on innovative control systems, automation strategy, and energy efficiency technologies in dynamic environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with consultants and stakeholders to design BEMS tailored to specific building requirements
• Configure BEMS to integrate with a range of building systems and connected devices
• Program and commission custom systems, including developing control strategies and writing software for efficient system operation
• Create and maintain documentation for system design, configuration, and maintenance procedures
• Commission and test BEMS to ensure it functions as intended and meets all performance criteria
• Maintain and troubleshoot BEMS systems, diagnosing and resolving issues to ensure optimal performance
• Provide technical support to end-users, addressing inquiries and resolving problems

Requirements:

• 2–3 years’ technical experience with a focus on BEMS systems
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
• Proficient in computer operating systems and Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Full, valid driver’s license
• Experience in the pharmaceutical sector is a plus, but not essential
