EdgeCore is seeking an Automation & Controls Program Manager to join its growing team. This position will be part of the IT team and be responsible for the reliability and quality of the Building Management System (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) and Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) systems. The individual will assist with system implementation, support data center daily operations, and contribute to quality initiatives for continuous improvement of EdgeCore's BMS, EPMS and DCIM systems.
To succeed in this role, the individual will collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, general contractors, and commissioning and controls subcontractors to ensure system documentation is thorough, systems meet user and customer needs, and implementation follows design specifications. As new buildings become operational, they will work closely with Core Operations teams and controls vendors to maintain system functionality, accuracy, and security while ensuring compliance with change management and emergency response best practices.
* Assist with implementing and testing Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), and Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) at EdgeCore Data Centers.
* Support system programming, troubleshooting, and quality assurance (QA/QC) during commissioning.
* Monitor and maintain BMS, EPMS, and DCIM to ensure they operate securely, accurately, and efficiently, issuing timely alarms and notifications.
* Follow standard BMS design guidelines for system layout, graphics, functionality, and alarms to ensure consistency across all data centers.
* Work with Core Operations, IT, and Security teams to manage system configurations, updates, and troubleshooting.
* Lead in customer interactions, ensuring operational support aligns with lease agreements and customer requirements.
* Maintain documentation, policies, procedures, test plans, and change management records.
* Support cybersecurity efforts by managing firmware updates, backups, vulnerability remediation, and system restoration.
* Provide on-call support for emergency incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and recommend improvements for system reliability.
* Help coordinate vendor services to minimize risks to system availability and security.
* Assist with developing and delivering training programs for internal teams and customers.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, ANSI, ASHRAE).
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and efficiency.
Your Experience and Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical engineering, computer science, construction management, or related field preferred.
* 3+ years of experience in programming and controls for critical facilities; data center experience is a plus.
* Familiarity with power distribution, mechanical systems, and network infrastructure in data centers or similar environments.
* Proven ability to test and modify system software in multiple languages, with Java and HTML proficiency preferred.
* Experience with Niagara, ALC, SkySpark, Mosquito, Rockwell Automation, Distech Controls, and Schneider EcoStruxure preferred.
* Formal certifications in control systems architecture (CCE, CAP, CCST, CMVP, PLC Practitioner) are a plus.
* Strong understanding of data center controls management trends, technologies, and best practices.
* Experience managing multiple vendors for system implementation and maintenance.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office, Bluebeam, and cloud-based applications (e.g., SharePoint).
* Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, Ethernet IP, MSTP, ALC web control, and Ethernet TCP required.
* Experience with emerging protocols such as MQTT, BACnet Secure Connect, RF, RS-232, RS-485, SNMP, CANBUS, and mesh networks preferred.
* Ability to travel up to 20%, with potential adjustments based on business needs.

* Base salary range is $150,000 - $180,000, depending on experience
