We have an immediate employment opportunity for experienced Auto Property Damage Adjuster to become a part of our organization. As an Auto Property Damage Adjuster, you will be responsible for the investigation, evaluation, negotiation, disposition, and settlement of Auto Liability claims, to determine legal liability, damages, and coverage. Assigned claims may involve Single vehicle or multiple vehicle losses, uninsured/underinsured PD motorist claims and complex coverage issues requiring direct involvement in property damage claim handling, while working remotely. (Ideal candidates will be located in the EST time zone.)


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Plan and conduct investigations (including but not limited to interviewing parties involved, collecting and evaluating documentation and securing evidence and protecting the chain-of-custody, determine inspection needs, order police reports, scene investigation, take witness statements, review material damage photos, etc.) to analyze coverage, determine liability, compensability, and extent of damages
  • Manage an inventory of property damage claims; including attorney represented and non-represented parties, for both first- and third-party claimants
  • Adherence to proper procedures relating to inspection and evaluation of property damage claims
  • Keep internal and external customers advised of file status and other matters, as required
  • Documents claim files, sends appropriate correspondence and communicates with customers
  • Evaluate claim for potential fraud and work with Special Investigations Unit, as required
  • Understanding of applicable statutes, regulations, and case law
  • Respond timely and appropriately to all settlement demands
  • Identify subrogation potential for referral to subrogation department, as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Education:


  • 4 year college degree preferred or equivalent work experience may be considered


License/Certification:


  • Must have or obtain valid state adjuster license(s) where required


Qualifications:


  • Two years or more years of experience handling automobile property damage claims, preferably in multiple states.
  • Nonstandard experience and adjuster licenses a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Makes decisions in an informed, confident and timely manner
  • Ability to effectively negotiate in difficult situations
  • Ability to learn and quickly absorb information and apply it to current business situations
  • Demonstrates excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication and keyboarding skills
  • Highly detailed and organized, capable of prioritizing multiple tasks and assuring consistently high levels of accuracy
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, customers, vendors, and others in a courteous and professional manner
  • Conform with and abide by all Company codes, regulations, policies, values, work procedures and instructions
  • Computer proficiency (MS Office, excel, word, etc.)
