Description

Responsibilities:

  • representing N&D® as a service oriented member of our claims team, responsiveness with policyholders and agents is of the utmost importance
  • establishing timely contact with policy holders, claimants and witnesses following the report of a claim
  • analyzing policy terms to ensure that the coverage sought applies to the loss event
  • investigating loss facts to determine liability and to rule out fraud
  • assessing appropriate damages and negotiating settlements
  • monitoring vendor usage and controlling expense costs
  • order police reports and speak with police officers to gain more knowledge on the claim
  • send appropriate emails to policyholders, agents, and attorneys
  • draft up letters to send out for coverage denials
  • report claims to other insurance carriers for subrogation purposes

Qualifications

  • be driven and interested in progressively more complex roles within the organization experience working in a customer service field
  • 1 or more years of claims experience preferred
  • Bachelors Degree
  • be comfortable engaging in negotiations with consumers and attorneys
  • posses strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • posses the ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • be proficient in Word, Excel & Outlook
