Audio/Video Specialist JobID: 6400 Position Type: Technology/Specialist Date Posted: 5/20/2025 Location: Annex, Round Lake, IL Date Available: June 09, 2025   Additional Information: Show/Hide SUMMARY: This class is accountable for performing a full range of systems and resource planning, audio video engineering and support on a variety of audio video and information technology hardware and software for the District. SALARY RANGE: Starting at $31.59/hr EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: General Experience: Three (3) years of experience in Audio Video (AV) operations and support, production control, information technology analysis and planning in an enterprise environment. Substitutions Allowed: College training in computer science, information systems, business or a closely related field may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equaling one half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of two (2) years for an Associate's Degree. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Knowledge of Audio Video (AV) Systems; 2. Knowledge of recording, editing, publishing videos and live-streaming meetings and events; 3. Knowledge of AV standards and best practices; 4. Knowledge of AV over IP, HDBaseT, HDMI Matrix Switchers, HDCP, and other AV technologies; 5. Knowledge of Video conferencing solutions (e.g. Zoom, Teams, Webex); 6. Knowledge of AV equipment setup and configuration for various events (e.g. meetings, presentations, panel discussions, theater productions); 7. Knowledge of firmware, software and system updates; 8. Knowledge of discussion systems, amplifiers, splitters, and other AV equipment. 9. Knowledge of digital media software; 10. Meticulous attention to detail; 11. Ability to train and support staff that have a wide range of varying technological skills; 12. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; 13. Ability to effectively communicate technical detail in a non-technical manner; 14. Ability to multitask and be flexible; 15. Proven experience with complex AV projects and installations ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following identifies the primary and essential functions of the position and is not intended to be an exhaustive listing of all duties. 1. Provide Support for the various Audio Video technology systems throughout the District; 2. Setup, operate, troubleshoot and support the discussion system, audio video equipment, and streaming solution for Board meetings; 3. Setup, operate, troubleshoot and support key district AV platforms , including, but not limited to the high school theater system, high school athletic stadium system; 4. Required to attend all regular Board of Education meetings to operate AV equipment and live-streaming feeds; In addition, may attend special meetings and events (when requested); scheduled work hours will be adjusted on those days, as needed; 5. Provide support and guidance to the District with video conferencing solutions; 6. Oversee the District's digital media platform; 7. Make recommendations for the District on emerging AV technology; 8. Collaborate with the District Crisis & Safety Coordinator on potential AV solutions and features focused on physical safety; 9. Respond to incidents for support; 10. Assist in projects and implementations; 11. Collaborate with the Network Specialist on network designs with audio video emphasis; 12. Identify potential issues, needs or gaps in current designs and implementations and provide recommendations using research, experience, and expertise; 13.
