Position Summary:

The Audio/Visual (A/V) Support Technician is responsible for assisting the A/V Systems Specialist with installing, configuring, operating and maintaining audio/visual systems. Also Assisting with scheduling, recording, and publishing videos from school events, classes, and meetings.

Primary Responsibilities, Essential Functions and Requirements:

  • Assisting with the delivery, installation, operation and retrieval of audio/visual equipment for daily meetings, University events, and class setups in accordance with the daily reservation calendar and just-in-time requests.
  • Operating audio/visual systems integrated with video conferencing, projection, audio, video recording, playback and remote control devices.
  • Assisting with the coordination of AV support University events held at facilities, which may include interaction with vendors and other facility support staff.
  • Operating video cameras to record University programs and events; performing video and audio duplication, including media labeling and documentation
  • Assisting with the implementation of new technologies, equipment, and network services related to video conference and audio/visual services University wide.
  • Assisting with identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving A/V equipment and connectivity issues.
  • Assisting with maintaining a thorough inventory of A/V equipment and supplies, and monitoring the repair and replacement of non-working, damaged and/or obsolete equipment
  • Scheduling, launching, and troubleshooting web conferencing applications
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Adhere to and enforce the appropriate information security policies based on the sensitivity of company data and report any security related issues
  • Reduce risk of theft, fraud, or misuse of information assets by acting as the data steward for the application(s) you administer



Requirements


Experience and Qualifications:

  • Ability to articulate and model the Concordia University Texas mission, vision and values
  • Ability to set up, interconnect and operate audio/visual equipment, including LCD projectors and screens, DVD-VHS decks, video switchers, document cameras and computers.
  • Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity
  • Ability to integrate meetings with web and audio conferencing.
  • Ability to set up, interconnect and operate video and audio equipment, including digital video cameras, audio tape decks, audio mixers, microphones and public address systems.
  • Ability to perform all functions related to DVD, VHS, DVCam and audio tape duplication, including basic editing and accurate media labeling.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to learn new A/V systems.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Sitting, standing, using, crawling and bending over a\v equipment, computers, other hardware for 6 - 8 hours per day.
  • Lifting up to 70 pounds
  • Ability to transport equipment to multiple campus locations
  • Must be able to sit or stand at a workstation per assigned work

Education, Certifications and Licensures:


  • AA – Preferred but not required
