Summary

We are assisting the Australian Federal Government with multiple 6 or 12-month contract positions based in the Melbourne CBD. The roles support the renewable energy industry to derisk construction projects via project managing the tendering and contracting process with the goal of supporting Australia to reach its emissions targets. We are assisting a role in each of the below teams:


The Tender Delivery Team:

  • Design and implementation of tenders to secure new renewable generation and dispatchable capacity.
  • Day-to-day program management of on-foot tenders in collaboration with the external delivery partner.
  • Ensuring the probity and governance of on-foot tenders in consultation with delivery partners and probity and legal advisers.
  • Briefing senior executives on tenders as required.


The Commercial Team:

  • Works with key stakeholders, external legal and commercial advisers and the Tender Delivery Partner to design, negotiate and execute Agreements.
  • Contributes to the design and implementation of tenders.
  • Ensures appropriate processes and governance is in place for on-foot tenders and negotiations in consultation with delivery partners and probity and legal advisers.
  • Prepares briefings senior executives on key decision points.


We are looking for multiple "Associate" level candidates with circa 3-6 years of experience, ideally within the renewable energy or electricity transmission & distribution market within Australia. Ideally the candidates will have exposure to:


  • Energy sector and/or infrastructure project development experience (preferred but not required) likely to come from an infrastructure developer, a lawyer (with renewable development exposure), a management consultant (with renewable energy exposure), commercial consulting related to renewable energy projects/bids.
  • An understanding, or the ability to develop an understanding, of the design and management of competitive tender processes.
  • An ability to consider and evaluate the trade-offs and advantages and disadvantages of competing options.
  • An ability to make sound recommendations based on reasoned analysis and consideration of the practical and commercial impacts of each option.
