Job Purpose

The role is to assist the Finance Assistant Manager and Manager in leading the team in Finance Operation with a key focus on monthly closing activities, expenses allocation, accounts reconciliation, daily operations activities and manage other assignments as and when assigned, while involving in a centralization project to integrate reconciliation and operating work from multiple entities.



The Role

  • Involve in day-to-day operations of the AR and AP teams, ensuring accurate processing, timely invoices and prompt payment of invoices.
  • Perform/review and support financial closing activities within the stipulated timeframe.
  • Perform/review account reconciliation and ensure clearance within the stipulated timeframe, which includes liaising with various user departments.
  • Perform/review and support daily finance operations activities (e.g. projection of cashflow, payment voucher coding, supplier bank assignment and etc.).
  • Analyze Profit and Loss Report (P&L) by Distribution Channel.
  • Perform submissions to regulators (e.g. Bank Negara Malaysia, Registrar of Unclaimed Money)
  • Implement processes to improve productivity and efficiency of finance operations and reconciliation.
  • Assist in reviewing/updating department Policies and SOPs and audit requirements.
  • Involve in Centralization Project, aimed at integrating reconciliation and operating activities from various entities into a unified process.
  • Involve in Oracle Cloud Fusion Project, including communication and collaboration with other entities, process testing and task execution until full implementation.
  • To assist Finance Assistant Manager and Manager in any other assignments as and when required.
  • Take accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company
  • Highlight any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices
  • Other responsibilities entailed



The Person

  • Possess a recognized Degree in Accounting, Finance or Actuarial
  • Fresh graduate or 1-2 years working experience in Financial Institution or Audit Company
  • Knowledge in Accounting Systems (e.g. Oracle) and Microsoft Excel VBA would be an added advantage
  • Experience in insurance industry is an added advantage
  • High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork
  • Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes
