ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES The Associate will support valuation and financial modeling efforts by coordinating data collection, conducting financial and risk analyses, and contributing to the preparation of corporate materials to guide origination, development, and operational decisions. * Maintain and update financial models to support acquisitions and energy offtake proposals. * Ensure accuracy and proper incorporation of relevant inputs into financial models. * Collaborate closely with renewable development teams and third-party developers to gather and prepare model inputs. * Identify key project economic and financial risks, recommend appropriate mitigation strategies, and define necessary contingencies. * Design and execute relevant sensitivity analyses to support strategic decision-making. * Provide quantitative and qualitative research to support contract negotiations and project acquisitions. * Analyze, evaluate, and recommend commercial offtake options aligned with business development initiatives. * Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Development, M&A, Origination, Transmission, Legal, Project Finance, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction, as well as external consultants. * Identify and implement creative commercialization strategies that reduce merchant risk, optimize returns, or enhance project value. * Collect competitive intelligence and perform benchmarking analyses. * Provide market insights to the M&A team to inform development and acquisition strategies. * Possess a high degree of passion, motivation, and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset. * Perform other duties as assigned (approximately 5%). EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor's degree in finance, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. * 2+ years of experience in renewable energy development and valuation. * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and the broader Microsoft Office Suite. * Experience with solar and energy storage is preferred but not required. * Prior experience with financial modeling, particularly in power generation and tax equity, is a plus. * CFA designation and proficiency in SQL, VBA, and Python are strong advantages. * Candidates with 3+ years of renewable energy valuation experience and strong financial modeling skills may be considered for the Senior Associate title. Preference for renewable experience in U.S. competitive wholesale electricity markets. * Requires the ability to stay current with changing technologies, regulations, and trends influencing the continued adoption of renewable energy. * Commercial mindset, strong prioritization, communication, and organizational skills are required. * Ability to quickly step into new tasks and adapt to new circumstances in a dynamic environment.
