Position: Associate Software Engineer | OneSearch team


We’re entering an exciting new phase of our tech and product strategy, with a focus on innovation, experimentation, and conversion at the heart of everything we do. Our mission is to elevate the web and mobile experience for our guests and owners, driving seamless journeys across all our group companies.


To achieve our goals, we’re looking to make some key hires and have a great role available for a passionate and ambitious Associate Software Engineer looking to make your mark in your career.

🏡 What team will you be joining?


Our OneSearch platform sits at the heart of everything we do, underpinning our flagship brands, serving multiple 3rd party distribution partners and providing faceted navigation and up-to-date price and availability data for an international portfolio of 115,000 properties (across cottages, lodges, parks).


🏡 What will your role be?


Joining our engineering teams, you’ll join a culture which revolves around getting things done. We deliver with small, fully autonomous teams that have real ownership of their products using a cutting edge stack in a best-idea-wins meritocracy. We operate what we build – which means reliability is key and devops is part of every engineer’s job description.


Day-to-day you will:


  • Work as part of a full stack product team, you’ll be responsible for building innovative products to ensure we continue to deliver optimal experiences for our guests and owners.
  • Help shape the overall architecture and tech strategy for our OneSearch platform using the right technology for the task, rather than allowing the technology to dictate the solution.
  • Contribute to driving best engineering practices such as CI/CD, TDD, cloud architectures and pair/mob programming
  • Experiment (it’s encouraged), collaborate, learn and debate.
  • Be an active member of the engineering and wider tech community within Awaze.


🏡 Who are you?


We don't expect you to be the finished article, more importantly we're looking for an Engineer with a strong passion for engineering and problem-solving. Coupled with this, it will however be great if you can offer.


  • Ideally 12 months + experience building applications in any language, and a willingness to quickly get up to speed on our stack.
  • Experience in Java and/or Clojure would be great but not a prerequisite
  • Developing and deploying production AWS services
  • Infra-as-code tools: Terraform, CDK, Serverless
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines: Github, Github actions & workflows, AWS Codedeploy
  • Modern quality practices, such as pairing, TDD, BDD
