SUMMARY
At the Company, we have been pioneering advancements in POC coagulation disorder management since 2008. As part of the CSI R&D team, the incumbent will conduct laboratory experiments aimed at reagent development, improvements to existing products and participate in the development of new assay platforms used in POC diagnostics. Work assignments will be carried out under the guidance of an Assay Scientist and/or senior technical staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Work in the lab, execute experimental studies, and perform basic troubleshooting.
· Prepare formulations, test standards and stock solutions. May work with biological specimens.
· Record and document assay development work in scientific notebooks for reference purposes.
· Analyze and present data at group meetings.
· Contribute to lab management activities.
· Ensure all research and development studies adhere to company and ISO13485/FDA guidelines.
· Generate reports pertaining to assay development progress as needed.
· Communicate regularly with team members regarding project progress.
· Follow all safety requirements and procedures for the site.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Proficient in Microsoft Office - MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Excellent organization, time management, record-keeping, and interpersonal skills are essential.
· Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Strong work ethics and self-starter.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
· Applicants should minimally hold a B.S. in a life science discipline with 1-3 years of industry experience, or M.S. with 0-2 years, preferably in medical device and in-vitro diagnostics.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
· Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation style), along with strong teamwork are essential.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to recognize problems, recommend and implement solutions. A logical and organized thought pattern is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· Laboratory work: this position involves sitting, standing and/or walking. Position requires daily laboratory work performing pipetting, reagent handling and use of standard laboratory equipment and protocols.
