The Role
As an Associate Building Services Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in leading and managing the design process, ensuring coordination of all building services engineering activities. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality engineering solutions that meet the needs of our clients, integrating seamlessly with architectural design while adhering to project timelines and budgets. You will work both independently and collaboratively, contributing to our overall mission of producing first-class architecture and engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent the company professionally and diligently at all times.
- Provide discipline leadership and technical expertise.
- Manage the design process, ensuring effective coordination of building services engineering activities.
- Lead and coordinate engineering teams, ensuring seamless project execution.
- Oversee project stages from inception to post-construction duties.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
- Contribute to group management activities as required by senior leadership.
- Drive innovation and sustainability within building services design.
Skills & Experience
- Chartered Engineer status.
- Strong technical expertise in mechanical engineering and building services design.
- Comprehensive understanding of UK Building Regulations and industry standards.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams effectively.
- Financial awareness in delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Resilient and adaptable with a commitment to continuous learning.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in international projects.
- BIM project delivery experience.
- LEED qualification or familiarity with sustainability assessment frameworks (BREEAM, WELL, etc.).
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles and MEP embodied carbon.
- Familiarity with ASHRAE design standards (55, 62.1, 90.1, etc.).
- Proficiency in software applications such as IES and Adobe Creative Suite.
