How you work As an Associate Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of data engineers, balancing technical contributions with people management responsibilities. You will oversee the team's delivery, set priorities, and foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture. You'll coach and mentor engineers, facilitate team ceremonies, and ensure that our data solutions are performant, reliable, and aligned with business requirements. You will report to a Director, working closely with them to align your team's work with organizational strategy and goals. What you'll do * Lead and manage a team of data engineers, setting priorities, allocating work, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions * Provide technical guidance and mentorship, conducting code reviews and supporting your team's growth and development * Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team environment by facilitating team discussions, ceremonies, and knowledge sharing * Build and maintain data pipelines and transformations within our data platform, ensuring high standards of data integrity, accuracy, and performance. * Oversee the technical direction of our data platform, driving best practices and continuous improvement in data engineering. * Collaborate directly with stakeholders and other teams to understand data needs and translate them into actionable technical solutions. * Own the recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of new team members. * Drive the adoption of new technologies and tools to optimize workflows and enhance the reliability and scalability of our data platform. * Represent the team in cross-functional meetings, communicate progress, and advocate for resources as needed. * Report on team progress, challenges, and needs to the Director, and ensure alignment with broader engineering and business objectives Who you are * You have hands-on experience as a data engineer and are ready to take on both people and technical leadership responsibilities. * You are passionate about mentoring and developing others, and have experience providing constructive feedback and guidance. * You are detail-oriented and methodical, ensuring that data pipelines and transformations are rigorously tested and meet high standards for performance and accuracy. * You are collaborative and enjoy facilitating team discussions, working closely with your peers to brainstorm, troubleshoot, and share insights on best practices. * You have experience with ETL/ELT processes and are comfortable working in the Snowflake and dbt ecosystem. * You are proactive in exploring new technologies and tools that can improve data workflows, optimize pipelines, and enhance overall system performance. * You have experience with orchestration tools, such as Airflow, dbtCloud or similar tools * You have experience with customer data platforms, such as Hightouch or similar tools Why you'll love working here: Perks, Benefits, and more!
