The Associate Manager, Events, GMAC Tours, under the general supervision of the Director, Events and Marketing, GMAC Tours, supports GMAC's global in-person and virtual event portfolio, working to connect prospective learners with their best-fit business school. This role will be responsible for operations and on-site event logistics for domestic, international and virtual events across the Tours portfolio. The ideal candidate for this role will have a passion for event (both planning and running on-site logistics), international and domestic travel, and is delighted to support our event attendees by providing best-in-class customer service.
The role has independent responsibility and latitude in the following areas:
- Operationalize and execute the GMAC Tours event program, under the general direction of the Director, Events and Marketing.
- Provide logistical oversight across the virtual and in person event portfolio.
- Develop systems and analyze event surveys and feedback from clients and attendees, suggesting recommendations to continued event improvement and increased satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Logistical oversight for approximately 15 virtual events and 70 in person events annually, including development of event programming, oversight of event logistics and best practices (including BEO and AV coordination), event staffing, and client and attendee support. Assist with general season planning and venue selection, under guidance of Director, Events and Marketing, GMAC Tours.
- Serve as primary event lead and Tour Leader for 2-3 Tours per year (a series of 4 - 6 events, across two weeklong trips to domestic and international destinations). Provide event management leadership during events, as well as best-in-class attendee support. For international Tours, serve as primary Tour Leader, including leading cultural excursions, working with regional GMAC teams, and acting as the main point of contact for clients during their travels.
- Oversee day-to-day relationship with virtual event platform (Cadence) and virtual event contractors (WISE and Showrunners), to ensure effective communication across platforms and teams regarding event details and changes.
- Develop Tour Leader trainings and create and maintain SOPs for running Tour events.
- Support travel package creation, management of traveler details and client booking.
- Provide white-glove client support for virtual and in person events, including but not limited to, support via phone, email, platform demonstrations, and suggestions for optimizing performance during events.
- Oversee partner participation for North America and Latin America partners, including ensuring registration, onboarding and providing input for maximizing success.
- Develop a robust system for client and candidate satisfaction surveys for virtual and in person events, including building surveys, monitoring data collection and analysis of post-event results. Create systems for communicating results to Product and S&IE partners and provide input for event improvements based on survey results.
- Maintain event materials and inventory (including event technology) and implement systems for shipping and delivery of event materials to event sites as needed.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in events, marketing, hospitality management, business or related field; Or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
- 2-3 years of experience in an event management, customer service and/or hospitality role.
- Previous experience working with event management and virtual event tools (Cvent, Zoom, Cadence).
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to interact with a wide variety of people.
- Strong project management skills and understanding how to manage the priorities of multiple stakeholders in a complex environment.
- Exceptional organizational skills, ability to multitask, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage daily operations of the function and prioritize work without direction.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team setting, and across external and internal stakeholder groups.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated writing skills for business.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
- Ability to work in-office and remotely according to GMAC's hybrid work environment.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time both domestically and internationally, at times in 2-3 week intervals.

Desired Skills/Experience:
- Experience in multicultural settings and international travel.
- Experience in hospitality, leading tours or groups internationally, camp counselor or executive stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge of higher education industry.
- Fluency in language(s) other than English.
