Job Description: Job Summary * The Associate Crew Resource Planning Consultant supports data-driven research and recommendations on strategies concerning Flight Operations' initiatives. They work to most efficiently plan, allocate, and prepare Crew Resources (Pilots, Flight Instructors, Check Pilots, and training device utilization) to support Company fleet, network, and strategic plans for Flight Operations Crew Planning, Scheduling, and Training. * The Associate Consultant will utilize their intermediate level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in Crew management to support decision-making and future planning to effectively manage current conditions and future unknowns as it relates to Crew Resources. * The culture of Southwest Airlines means we value the camaraderie, collaboration, and innovation that occurs when we come together and interact face-to-face at our vibrant Corporate Campus. Responsibilities * Represents the Crew Resource Planning Team and their interests with various departments, participating in meetings and committees as assigned * Support analysis, evaluates strategies, and makes recommendations to improve performance measures and reporting * Support the research and analysis of trends, and the development of new processes/tools/reports to support greater efficiency for Flight Operations Crew Planning, Scheduling, and Training * Aids in conducting studies using optimization to inform future Pilot staffing and Training Center utilization needs and interfaces with Network Planning for feedback on future schedule development * Supports maintaining the accuracy and evaluation of accuracy and evaluation of the Pilot Staffing headcount model and innovates additional capabilities and efficiencies * Supports maintaining the accuracy and evaluation of the Training Resource Planning model and communicates solutions and challenges * Identify strategic opportunities for the Training Center for staffing of Instructors, Check Airmen, and device utilization * Creates business analyses, including financial outlooks, for Pilot staffing and Training Center resources * Provides technical guidance on principles and topics within Flight Operations Crew Planning, Scheduling, and Training * Support operational and cost improvements for staffing, crew pairings, daily open time assignment, and irregular operations management * Support the Crew Design Team through presentations and coordination when required * Creates and delivers presentations to Company leaders, Employees, and Union. * Interfaces with and supports Leaders in Crew Planning, Scheduling, Training, and other departmental Employees on a daily basis * Conducts analysis on proposed work rule changes and supports Labor Relations with crew related data * May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Ability to comprehend and manage optimization software, interpret results, and create iterative processes for improvement * Ability in designing and supporting analyses, as well as synthesizing recommendations and understanding how data relates * Experience in analytical and quantitative data analysis; experience with spreadsheets or other quantitative modeling * Formulates hypothesis on assigned work as part of the Team * Ability to recognize value-creating opportunities, helping Leadership identify and evaluate them * Ability to properly manage highly sensitive and confidential information * Ability to assume a high level of responsibility and to contribute in a team-oriented environment * Ability to contend with the range and complexity and ambiguity of large Departmental/ Business problems * Ability to partner and work effectively with Managers, Directors, and Senior Leaders to develop and implement Departmental and Company plans * Ability to be self-motivated and possess a strong work ethic Education * Required: High School Diploma or GED Experience * Intermediate level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in: * Data collection, analysis, and presentation * Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel experience (pivot tables, look up functions, etc.), and PowerPoint * SQL Licensing/Certification * N/A Physical Abilities * Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time * Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job * Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job Other Qualifications * Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines * Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986 * Must be at least 18 years of age * Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines * Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary and sensitive Company information * Air travel with frequent overnight stays required Pay & Benefits: * Competitive market salary from $91,250 per year to $101,400 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
